The explosion was expected to occur in a week and ash reached 10 kilometers above sea level. Because of this some, animal species on earth are disappearing and there are changes in the weather.
3. Sipiso-piso Waterfall
The famous waterfall in North Sumatra falls from a height of 120 meters on the slopes of Mount Sipiso-piso. Its height makes this waterfall one of the highest waterfalls in the country. Sipiso-piso Waterfall is located in the hills 800 meters above sea level. Tourists have to go down about 1,000 steps or 1 km to reach the waterfall. With this location, plus thousands of pine trees surrounding it, Sipiso-piso waterfall has the perfect freshness. The Sipiso-piso waterfall hides in Tongging Village, Merek, Karo District. The location is approximately the same as a two hour drive from the city center. Tourists are more secure relying on a rental car with a driver to visit here. Thus, the trip will be more effective and certainly avoid fatigue.
6. Taman Alam Lumbini
The name Taman Lumbini Nature is among the best destinations in North Sumatra. The location of this green open park is in Berastagi, Karo Regency, which is about 50 square kilometers, equivalent to a 2 hour drive from Medan. However, the extraordinary charm always attracts tourists to order a rental car from Medan to visit this park. Lumbini Nature Park covers an area of 3 hectares. Compared to its natural beauty, this park is famous for the replica of Shwedagon Pagoda. The 46.8 meter gold-plated pagoda is a replication of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar. The amazing pagoda is surrounded by green gardens and is next to a natural forest with many statues of monks scattered in several areas.
